Eagle Eye Review

My main reason for starting this blog was to place my thoughts on movies, which I love. I am a minor in film, so I know a thing or two. I recently saw Eagle Eye and want to say what I think about it. However, before I go any further, I must first say that I am a Shia LaBeouf, who is the one of the main characters in this movie, apologist. I think that he is extremely talented, single handedly saved the Transformers script, and is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors. I challenge anybody to watch A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and tell me that he doesn't have any talent. Now, back to Eagle Eye. I really enjoyed it. Yeah, sure, LaBeouf may have influenced that decision some but it was still a solid thrill none the less. What the movie really reminded me of was Enemy of the State. People being controlled by someone they don't know or see. And while I enjoyed Enemy of the State I feel this movie to be superior. I'll start with, yes, the good acting. I think that Shia gives his best performance to date. This is a different role for him. There are is hardly any comic relief in this movie but he still gives a great performance. Even Michelle Monaghan gives a worthwhile performance. The voice on the other end of the phone was suprisingly chilling and spot on. Now, to the directing. I fell in love with director DJ Curaso when he did Disturbia, also starring LaBeouf. He did such a gret job of holding tension in that movie and he does the same thing in this movie. He manages several times throughout the movie to keep you on the edge of your seat. Now when I said I enjoyed it more than Enemy of the State, that doesn't mean that it was a better movie. There are several plot holes that are never tied up, which Enemy of the State didn't have to such a large extent. I say if you liked Disturbia, then you will enjoy Eagle Eye. Don't go in expecting a Die Hard or Indian Jones (Not IV) like action movie and you will be entertained.

More to come......
